I customize each photo session for each beautiful family’s needs, ideas, and wants while sticking to my classic and beautiful portrait style!
Frequently Asked Questions
When should we contact you to book a newborn session?
Scheduling a session is highly recommended to call/get in contact during your pregnancy. The sooner the better is key, to avoid disappointment as I only book a limited number of sessions a month.
However I do have last minute openings sometimes so it’s always good to contact me to see.
How Old Should Baby Be For A Newborn Session?
I consider Newborn up to 8 weeks old.
I usually Photograph my newborn sessions. When baby is between 8 days and 25 days old. But if baby is a little older don’t worry we can still get beautufl images at any age. Where is our session held and do you provide the props?
Newborn sessions are currently held in my San Diego professional portrait studio. The studio location is located at 3333 Midway Dr. UNIT 101, San Diego, CA 92110. In the studio, you will have access to my wide variety of newborn props and backdrops. My collection of props includes. Fabrics, faux furs, headbands, hats, bonnets, wraps, crates, baskets, buckets, wooden bowls, and tons of other goodies in a multitude of colors. All we need is baby! All props and fabrics are washed or steamed cleaned before each session. Once you are booked, I will send over a newborn session questionnaire. It will ask you for your color preferences, and lots of other questions that will help me with the inspiration and design for your little ones’ posed newborn photography session.

I also offer in-home newborn baby photography in all of San Diego county and I am up for travel. Please inquire for information about booking an in-home newborn session.
I Pre-booked My Newborn Photo Shoot Already — What Now?
We generally set a tentative date based on your due date. Generally, babies don’t arrive when predicted, but at least we will have a starting point, which is your due date.
Your due date will be penciled in, and the session will be finalized once your little one arrives. I ask parents to call or text 1 to 2 days after the baby is born so we can secure the actual date and time.
In order to capture that curly, womb-like behavior, newborns are best photographed under 30 days old, with the best window at 8 - 15 days. This 8-15 day period is ideal since babies are still very sleepy and will easily curl into those sweet newborn positions.

How do we prepare for the Newborn session?
I have a special Newborn Session Guide. Prepared just for my newborn session clients.
The guide is to help prepare you have a smooth photo session so we can focus on capturing beautiful portraits. I send the guide over once we confirm your booking.
How long does the session last?
My newborn sessions last between 1-3 hours depending on package chosen.
The sessions are this long, to allow us to take feeding break or diaper changes and soothing time to get babe tired enough to pose.
How long after the session can we expect To See the Proofing Gallery images?
2 to 3 Weeks after your Newborn session. We will set up a in person viewing / ordering appointment.
Once you choose your final images and product. It takes another 2 to 3 weeks to receive final digital edits. Products take 3 to 8 weeks to receive.
Newborns often have skin problem/ dry skin or spots/blemishes, jaundice. Will you be retouching these out? Or will this cost extra?
I will attend to any retouching needs for the images of your newborn after your proofing / ordering session.
In addition to any basic color enhancement and my signature look will be applied to all images.
Please note composites and digital background work for specialized images may have an additional cost.

A Note On Health
If I am sick or even feel like i’m coming down with something, I will reschedule your newborn session until I'm better. I assist you to do the same, especially with older siblings who are sick and maybe touching items in my studio. Just as with safety, I will not risk the health of any newborn baby.
